Troop 134 had an awesome weekend in Newton Hills this past weekend.
The boys learned about fire building, first aid, participated in a citizenship baseball game, knot tying, and catapults.
The boys brought home a first place trophy in the bucket brigade event. The event was judged on how well they put together a strategy to complete the task and their application of that strategy.   The Judges stated that the Flying Eagle patrol from Troop 134 were well out in front of the next closest patrol.
The troop also brought home a 2nd place finish in the dutch oven dessert competition.  It seems the troop favorite was also one of the judges favorite this weekend.
The event coordinators asked Troop 134 to perform the flag retreat ceremony Saturday night.  I overheard one of the senior troop leaders say it was one of the finest retreats he had seen in quite a while.  That was high praise and well deserved.
Well the bar has been set higher once again.
Congratulations Troop 134.  Here's wishing you many more enjoyable camp outs........
